King and Jael met at one of their favorite places: Faith Family Church in 2009. They actually weren’t friends at first...Jael was a shy 13 year old who always wore pink. King was a "chok" (that means "cool") 19 year old who always wore black. They unintentionally began hanging out together at their church's youth group, Mission's trips, and outings with friends. Jael specifically remembers one particular day that she and King (along with friends) took photos in Mong Kok...later that day she told her mom "as long as King is there...I have so much fun!!" By 2016, King and Jael were like “brother and sister”—hanging out almost weekly.

In 2018, King and Jael traveled together on one of their church's Mission's trips...that's when they first felt a spark of chemistry. A week after the trip, King and Jael had a conversation that changed their lives forever...King said "have you ever thought about, 'me and you'? Like we might be good soul mates. I think this is something we should pray about" Jael smiled and replied "I've already prayed about it. I think this is something we should do!" Their dating relationship didn't start as quickly as they thought...it wasn't until 8 months later that they finally went on their first, official date!! (Why wait 8 months?? That's a long story lol . Planning to share it at our wedding!)

It happened on one beautiful day at Hong Kong Disneyland when Jael and her family were celebrating her mom's birthday. Jael had NO IDEA that King was also at Disneyland...secretly waiting in room with candles, flowers, balloons, music, and a diamond ring! About mid-day Jael's sister, Jasmine, pretended to lose her HK ID card. Jael accompanied Jasmine to the Lost and Found, the Disney staff said they’d check if they have the ID card but in the meantime Jael and her sister could go to their waiting room. Jael approached the room, the door opened, and there was King! Jael was overjoyed...”He must be here to surprise my mom for her birthday!!” She was still clueless. It was until she heard the music and saw King’s expression on his face that she finally got it. King was about to propose!!!!! He began with heart-warming words and Jael began to cry. Then King knelt down, pulled out a ring, and said that magical sentence...”Jael, will you marry me?” 😍
