It all started when they were about 17 years old. Kindra was working at a department store at the Montgomery Mall when Charles asked for her number. They were friends and eventually went their separate ways. They later crossed paths while working for the same banking institution. Charles told Kindra, “One day you will be my wife, you just don’t know it yet!” Kindra immediately, laughed and told him, "NOPE NOT ME!" Six years later after he spoke those words, they crossed paths again. This time it was a Facebook quiz that they took that told them their expected wedding date. Kindra did not notice until one of her friends brought it to her attention that they both had the same wedding date. It was a joke and she thought Facebook was funny. Little did she know a funny Facebook quiz turned into dating then a serious 3-year relationship. Kindra never would have thought a man that said she would be his almost 10 years ago would actually win her heart, but here they are from a mere joke to #BrasherBeginnings!
After 3 years of dating, Charles proposed on a night I'll never forget. It was Dec 12, 2020 - his birthday! We took a family trip to Gatlinburg, Tennessee. This was my first time in Gatlinburg, and I loved every moment! We had a long day of activities planned for Charles and his twin sister Candace. Little did I know there was a twist to the birthday celebration. After we exchanged gifts, ate cake, and sang the birthday song, we began decorating the tree as a family. We each had a special ornament that my future sister-in-law personalized for us. Everyone had placed their ornament on the tree and I was last. My ornament was a huge red ball with sparkles and glitter. I began to read my ornament and it said, “Will you marry me?” At that moment, my breath was taken away and the tears ran down my face. I turned around and the same man that said I would be his wife over 10 years ago, was down on one knee asking me to marry him. Charles literally took my breath away. My answer was yes and now we are here preparing to make it official on September 4, 2021. We cannot wait to celebrate with you all!
