Our mutual friend and bridesmaid introduced us! We started talking in March 2017 and met officially in April. Our first date we went to a Mexican restaurant in Katy in sweat pants and both ordered cheese enchiladas. We realized from the first week of talking that we were very similar pretty much the same person. Courtney did tell me "Hey, I know this is bad timing, but I know this guy that is the male version of you." We started dating and fell in love. It has been the absolute best thing that’s happened to either of us. We have gone through tough times in our personal lives and have had one another to lean on and help build each other back up. We have done the long distance thing leaving lots of miles on I10 over the last two years so we couldn’t be more excited to get married and officially start our lives together!
We were on a cruise (Carnival Vista) with two of our close friends and I had a slight gut feeling Joseph may ask me on this trip mostly because I knew he had the ring the trip before this. My nail lady (unknowingly) even said "this is the perfect color for a proposal!" It was mid-cruise at this point so I honestly thought I was wrong about it because nothing happened. We were getting ready one morning to get off the ship and head to Little French Key in Honduras which is one of my absolute favorite private islands out of all my trips I've taken. Joseph played music in our cabin that morning and "This Is It" by Scotty McCreary came on and for those of you who don't know the entire song is about him proposing. I thought to myself "Interesting, you're telling me Scotty." We got to LFK and immediately went into the water and playing with the monkey's that live on the island. After some time, a woman on the island had a medical emergency that Joseph spent a good 45 minutes (probably longer) helping. She literally "coded" on the beach and it was honestly kind of scary. We ate lunch and then were told by our waiter it was our turn to go horseback riding. I asked if we could wait 20 minutes to digest our food. He gave Joseph this weird glare which I was confused about. I agreed to go then instead and we got ready to ride. A lovely little horse decided to bite me on the arm before we rode so I choose a different horse :) We went on a ride with our friends and at one point we were led the opposite direction I had seen previous riders going so I was a bit confused. Joseph pulled us over to a beach area and asked me if I could read what was written in the sand behind him. I said no, he asked again and I said no again. He then asked me to be his wife and I realized it read, "Krystal will you marry me?" It was literally perfect!
