Simon was visiting his old stomping grounds, the call center that Lexi was then working at, to wish his friend a happy birthday. While he was there, he ran into his old trainer who asked if he was still single. Luckily, he was and she pointed out Lexi. Simon agreed that she was cute and that he was interested. The next day, Lexi was approached by the same trainer and asked if she would be interested in Simon. Judging him based off his tiny Skype profile photo, Lexi agreed that he was attractive and she would be open to the idea of talking to him. Not even 10 minutes later, an IM popped up on Lexi's screen and the rest is history.
Lexi and Simon had planned a trip to New Orleans to celebrate her birthday. While Lexi already knew that Simon had purchased a ring 6 months prior, it had already been discussed that he would not be proposing on this trip. It had rained most of the week, so the day after Lexi's birthday it was finally a clear day and Simon asked if they could walk around Audubon Park. Unknown to Lexi, he did this to scout out a proposal spot. They spent the day walking around the park, going to the zoo, and taking the trolley back to their hotel to get ready for dinner. Simon told Lexi she needed to be ready by 6 PM and could not be late. If you know Lexi, you know that she has never been on time a day in her life, but on this particular day she was ready to go. She thought it was strange how calm Simon was when the Uber arrived late and dropped them off back at the park. He suggested they take a leisurely stroll through the park to get to the restaurant and asked if they could stop and take a photo. It was then that Simon got down on one knee to ask Lexi to marry him where she replied, "Of course, you dummy!"
