Bridesmaid
Sara and I met in Houston when we both did Teach For America! We interviewed for the same first grade teaching position at Sherman Elementary and we didn't like each other when we first met. I ended up getting the first grade job, but Sara got a job teaching kindergarten at Sherman. We found out halfway through the year that we were both attending St. Anne's Church and I joined Sara for an event with the St. Anne's Young Adults group. We've been besties ever since (20 years) and were roommates for 2 years before Sara moved from Houston to D.C. for physician's assistant school. Our adventures together are many and my first years in Houston were so much easier having her as a friend. She's been living in Colorado for many years and I'm blessed to be Auntie Jenny to her two adorable daughters, Mia and Ella!
Bridesmaid
Katy and I met at Saint Mary's College in our sophomore year. I had just transferred to SMC and we were both living in McCandless Hall. Katy was super friendly and outgoing which was great for an introvert like me. We would both end up being education majors. Katy and I have remained close since our years at SMC and she has been a great support to both myself and my family.
Bridesmaid
Anna and I met through Saint Anne's Young Adults group in Houston. We bonded over Notre Dame Football, being non-Aggies at Houston Howdy Club events, and the Houston Astros. I credit her with teaching me how to eat crawfish and teaching me to always carry a koozie with you! We've had some wild and crazy adventures over the years and she's always been an amazing friend and support!
Bridesmaid
Leslie and I met through the Saint Anne's Young Adults group in Houston. We were on the SAYA Sharks softball team for several years and she is the one I can say solidified my love for the Houston Astros! She's an amazing hostess and and beach buddy! We've had many adventures together over the years and she's been another great support!
Bridesmaid
Victoria and I both attended Saint Mary's College, but didn't know each other while we were there-she was a freshman when I was a senior. We met and became friends through a mutual ND friend and the Saint Mary's Alumnae Club in Houston. We've also had many crazy and fun adventures over the years and she was actually with me the first night I met Steve! We were roommates for a year, during which time we made it through Hurricane Harvey. She's also been an amazing support to me throughout the years!
Bridesmaid
Ashley and I met in Houston through the Saint Mary's College Alumnae Club. We've made some wonderful memories together attending many concerts, ND Football game watches, and nights out in Houston. Ashley has always been up for any event or adventure and she, along with her mom Gloria, have been an amazing support to me.
Groomsman
Brother of the Groom - I've known Jeff all his life...starting on the day he co-opted my birthday! (We were born on the same day - 4 years apart). Jeff can be frequently spotted wielding a camera on the sidelines of Notre Dame football and basketball games but he's also a wizard behind a drum kit. He's probably my favorite drummer to jam and play blues and jazz with, tho it doesn't happen often.
Groomsman
Brother of the Groom - Brian and I are nearly 7 years apart in age, but got to sing in the Miami University Men's Glee Club together at the start of Brian's undergrad as I was working on my masters degree. We grew much closer in our shared time in Oxford and Brian now lives in Washington DC with his wife and dog - and they've just announced that they'll be the first of my siblings to have a baby!
Groomsman
Friend of the Groom - Chris and I met in grad school at Miami and have been fast friends ever since. We share an affinity for golf, trivia, beer, and bourbon (not all at the same time) and of course, playing and teaching music and band. Of the two of us, Chris is always the more tactful human.
Groomsman
Friend of the Groom - Marc is a native of Luxembourg and we met at Miami when he travelled across the pond to get his music degrees and live in the US for a few years. We performed in many ensembles together at Miami, including the Men's Glee Club (along with brother Brian). Having grown up in such different places and having such varied experiences, we viewed the world very differently and discussions were always fast paced, colorful, and usually hilarious!
Groomsman
Friend of the Groom - Andy and I met while band directing up in Killeen, TX where Andy still works. Our band directing careers have a lot of parallels and diversions and somehow we've managed to continually inspire each other through the good times and the bad. Andy is my emergency body double if I'm ever unavailable for Tubalele.
Groomsman
Friend of the Groom - JJ and I met during my second year of band directing in Texas, all the way down south in Brownsville. We've both since left the Rio Grande Valley, but have been close friends all through the years. Jenny and I met while I was in Houston hanging out with JJ during spring break of 2018 so it's safe to say that without him, Jenny and I would have never met!
Officiant
As brother of the bride and my only sibling, it's been Kyle and Jenny since he blessed us with his presence in 1984. Growing up, Kyle and I loved each other, but would often get into good old sibling fights (hitting and scratching included)! But as we matured, and as life threw various challenges our way, we became the best of friends and each other's biggest supporter and confidant. From a very young age, Kyle has had an amazing relationship with the Lord and is overall just an amazing human and brother. Once Steve and I were engaged, we both agreed immediately on who we wanted to marry us. This will be the second time he will officiate a wedding and we are extremely excited for him take on this special role in our wedding ceremony!
