At IUP’s main campus Andrew and Sarah met in the main hall of Delaney Dorms. As an RA, Andrew would check in on students using the public study rooms and found Sarah playing D&D with a group of mutual friends, and joined the game. At another student event, a showing of Harry Potter Musical, he asked her out. Through thick and thin, two more years of school, and two years of ‘Nerd Nights’ with friends, they fell in love. Sarah stole him away to the east side of the state, but he stayed true to the Pittsburg sports teams. Three years after meeting, before the premier showing of Star Wars: The Last Jedi, he proposed.

On July 4th, 2021, Sarah Hankinson and Andrew (Mendlowitz) Kincaid will formally join hands to become Mr. and Mrs. Kincaid. Andrews maternal family name is important to the couple because the Kincaid family spent so much time in raising Andrew, and were so welcoming to Sarah. Andrew spent the majority of his childhood with his Aunt Cindy, Uncle Lee, and his cousin Audra. Aunt Cindy and Uncle Lee had a great hand in raising Andrew, who also spent a summer with his Aunt Lynn and would visit the Kincaid Family farm. The Kincaid family is one with a rich history, full of loving people. It is an honor for Andrew to formally take the name of the family that has been so dear to him, and an honor for Sarah to join this family.
