It’s hard to pin down exactly when Kim and Wes met. They both grew up in St. Thomas Aquinas, so, although they never spoke, they’ve known each other since they were young. Kim and Wes started running into each other more during their collegiate years because one of Kim’s best friends, Princess, was close friends with Wesley. So, Kim found herself at several of Wesley’s birthday parties and would run into him at a few of Princess’s events over the years. They were always cordial with one another, but no sparks. That changed in early 2019. In February 2019 Wesley asked Princess about Kim’s relationship status. Shortly after that, Wes found himself in Kim’s messages on Instagram. After a few flirtatious DMs back and forth, they ended up going on a date the day before Valentine’s Day. Going on a first date so close to “the day of love” was very bold of Wes! Kim liked that! And the rest is history….

In August 2023, Wes and Kim planned a trip to Hawaii to spend some quality time together. Wes made a reservation for the two of them to have dinner at Roy’s. Kim’s not an idiot, so she put on her best fit! Dinner was fabulous. When it was time for dessert, the waiter came with a card on a plate. Wes had written Kim a poem. Now she REALLY knew something was happening! After they had dessert, they headed to the beach. On their way to the beach, Wes gave Kim another poetic note. As they walked along the trail to get to the beach, Wesley started telling Kim how deeply he felt about her and they talked about all they had overcome together. As they spoke, he picked up a bouquet of roses from the ground and gave them to her! (Understand that Kim was in complete awe at this point!). They kept walking, they kept talking, and they found themselves on the beach, standing inside of rose petals in the shape of a heart. Before she knew it, Wes was on one knee and a photographer came out of no where! Of course, she said a million times yes! After a beautiful sunset photo shoot, Wes gave Kim the last poetic note. And the rest is history….
