Falling in Love

We met in the summer of 2019 at the Koenig house in Maryland. Neither of us knew the other would be there, but it didn’t take long to hit it off. Almost a year after our initial introduction, Chelsea took the plunge and flew out to Reno for our official first-date weekend. That trip included Lake Tahoe views, all-you-can-eat sushi, and an adventure up Peavine Mountain. The rest was history - as they say. Over the following year and a half, we traveled back and forth between Reno and Baltimore, navigating long distance in the middle of COVID. When we weren’t crossing the country, we met halfway in cities like Denver and Bozeman, making the most of every opportunity to be together.

A Nomadic Adventure

After a year and a half of long distance, we got creative and set out of a nomadic life we would build together. Meeting "halfway" first in Chicago before venturing to Charleston, St. Petersburg, Crisfield, Minneapolis, Bozeman, Lake Tahoe, Sedona, and Texas we put the relationship to the test moving so many times in three years before eventually returning to the Twin Cities to put down roots. In the last year and a half, we’ve continued building our life side by side, starting with an engagement where it all began in Lake Tahoe, followed by new jobs, a new puppy, and buying our first home while settling into our new community.

The Proposal

December 23, 2024 is the day that officially led us down the aisle. Unbeknownst to Chelsea, Josh had long dreamed of proposing in Lake Tahoe, surrounded by snow-capped mountains, and he made it happen. He began sharing heartfelt words about being in his favorite place in the world with his favorite person in the world at the top of Chickadee Ridge. Then, kneeling in the snow, he presented the beautiful ring we had chosen together. With tears in her eyes, Chelsea didn’t hesitate—the answer was a joyful yes. The moment was private, intimate, and filled with the love we had spent the past four years building together.

The Wedding

The Landing Resort & Spa

When considering where and when to celebrate a wedding for two people who have lived coast to coast, only one place felt right: Lake Tahoe. It’s where we had our first date, where we spent a summer together as nomads, and where we got engaged. Lake Tahoe holds a special place in our hearts, having been part of our journey from the very beginning. We are thrilled to gather in a place that means so much to us and to share it with each and every one of you as we celebrate this next chapter together.
