So... the tinder date went well!

October 6th, 2017 - Kyle was attending his friend Stacy's weding in Portland. He had been chatting with some of their old high school friends and enjoying the reception. At one point, Kyle got his picture taken at the little photo booth area with the new bride and groom. A bridesmaid took their photo and handed the freshly printed Polaroid to Kyle. "Whatever you do, don't shake it! I learned that the hard way." The bridesmaid told him. He smiled, said okay, and took his souvenir. Laura was that bridesmaid.

October 10th, 2018 - Laura and Kyle both swiped right on each other's Tinder profile, making them a match and allowing them to message one another. Kyle was the first to send a message. The conversation carried on really well! Well enough to start texting outside of the app, and THAT is when they learned that they had met each other before! When Laura learned Kyle had grown up in Milwaukie, a light bulb went off and she immediately texted Stacy to see if this Kyle was the same one that Stacy had gone to high school with. Stacy confirmed that it was, and then she dropped the truth bomb that they had been in the same room before. Naturally, Laura told Kyle, and they both flipped out a little bit. Neither one of them could place the other, despite the pictures! It was only after they told their stories that they realized they had actually talked to each other. At that point, they knew they wanted to meet in person. October 27th, 2018 - Laura and Kyle went to the Happy Valley Food Carts for their first date and spent hours talking and getting to know one another. Eventually, Kyle walked Laura out to her car like a gentleman. They kissed and hoped for a second date.

April 18th, 2019 - Kyle texted Laura a joke about getting married that weekend. Laura played along with it. To her surprise, Kyle kept going along with it. After two full days of each other taking the joke another step further and further, they both realized that no one was joking. Given the right circumstances, they would have gotten married right then and there. April 20th, 2019 - They decided to tell friends and family that they are engaged!
