we're getting married!

Tom and Kimby’s story started at Kimby’s Doctorate of Physical Therapy graduation, though Tom was not there for her and did not know her yet. During the ceremony, Kimby ended up sitting next to Tom’s sister, Allie, who quickly decided to play matchmaker and said, “You should date my brother!” Later that day, Allie sent Tom Kimby’s Instagram and after three days of working up the courage, Tom finally sent a bold opening message: “Hey there.” Somehow, it worked. Their first date at Puesto in downtown San Diego quickly turned into many more, and six weeks later Tom asked Kimby to be his girlfriend because when you find a catch like Kimby, you move fast. Over the next couple of years they traveled to places like Japan and France, squeezed into Tom’s 600-square-foot condo, spent a brief (and memorable) month living at Tom’s mom’s house, and filled their time with plenty of dates, adventures, and home projects. Tom eventually brought things full circle in Del Mar, his favorite place in San Diego and where he first told Kimby he loved her. After convincing Kimby they were attending a work event with a bunch of executives, he surprised her by getting down on one knee on the restaurant patio and asking her to marry him. She said yes, making it officially Tom’s best day ever in Del Mar. Fast forward another year and here we are. We are so excited to build our lives together, and having family and friends to support us means the world.
