Please let us know if you're joining us by January 15, 2025! You can RSVP directly on our website.
The recommended wedding attire is black-tie or Indian formal. We ask that men wear tuxedos and women wear floor length gowns or Indian outfits.
The ceremony will be held at the Church of San Francisco (Templo de San Francisco de Asís) which is in Zona Centro. Transportation from the ceremony to the reception venue will be provided. The cocktail hour and reception will be held at Luna Escondida which is a venue about 15 minutes away from the Zona Centro. The cocktail hour will be in a covered outdoor area and the reception will be indoors.
Please arrive early to Templo de San Francisco by 3:40pm. It will be a Catholic mass around 45 minutes long.
Transportation to the church ceremony will not be provided but we recommend taking a taxi or uber and staying in a hotel nearby the church. Transportation WILL be provided for all guests from the ceremony to the reception venue. After the ceremony, attendants will be outside the church to escort you to the awaiting vehicles. Transportation will also be available at the reception venue to take guests back to their hotels in downtown San Miguel at any point until 1:30am.
March weather will be in the high 70s during the day and low 50s in the late evening. San Miguel is in the mountains so we recommend bringing a light jacket since it can get chilly at night.
San Miguel is a very walkable city and you can walk to most places within 20 minutes. Your main point of reference will be the Parroquia. It’s the big church in the main garden square called the Jardin. You can see the Parroquia from most places in the city so it’s easy to orient yourself if you get lost. All of the streets in San Miguel are cobblestone and there are some hilly areas so please keep that in mind when packing shoes. Sandals, sneakers, and block heels are easiest for walking around. If you do want a taxi they are very cheap ($4-$5 cash) and are great for getting home if you don’t want to walk the cobblestone streets after too many margaritas! They are all over the place so just flag down a green taxi. Uber is available in the area but the wait times can be long. You can also ask your hotel concierge to call a taxi for you.
Although we love your kids, we are only able to accommodate children of family members who are named on the RSVP section. Please let us know if you would like to arrange local babysitting services.
We recommend staying in a hotel or Airbnb in Zona Centro since there are plenty of things to do nearby and the welcome party and church ceremony will be in this area. Please see the Travel & Accommodations and Things To Do tabs for our hotel and restaurant recommendations.
Most places accept credit cards but if you need pesos for anything like taxis, there are plenty of ATMs near the Jardin and around the city. The exchange rate right now is about 20 MXN to 1 USD, so 2000 pesos is roughly $100.
Hotels, bars, and restaurants in the city use filtered water for their house water and ice so it is safe to drink.
