AND JUST LIKE THAT . . .

When Kim and I first started dating, we were long distance (I was in Myrtle Beach, SC and she was in Miami, FL -- 697 miles apart), she always talked about her love for movies and visiting places that were in some of her favorites (ex: A Walk to Remember, Sex and The City, etc). When I asked her to be my girlfriend, we took a trip to Wilmington, NC to see the house from A Walk to Remember and that is when I came up with the idea of incorporating her favorite movies into our story. When planning this trip to Europe, I knew that Paris would be the place to propose. Kim being a private person wanted her ideal proposal to be private; however, I wanted to make sure that her family and friends were included, as this decision is bigger than just us. I handwrote letters to her family and friends (some in Spanish and some in English) asking for their permission to propose and waited to receive their approval. The planning process has started! I found a photographer & videographer and she made my vision come to life. We found this beautiful rooftop in Paris that oversaw the Eiffel Tower and I was sold! The proposal took place at this location and after, I brought Kim to Pont Des Arts (the love lock bridge) from Sex and The City, where Big told Carrie that she was the one. Kim received a heart key and matching lock with a quote from the film as well. the ring case has an engraved “pinky promise” on it, as this is something we say when we need reassurance.
