We always were acquainted, growing up in a small town, you know everyone. They say it's the ones you least expect, and that's entirely true. And I had always crushed on him since the first moment I saw him, but I never imagined I'd be his type or he would be mine. We'd speak to each other in passing over the years when we would run into one another, and always, something about the intensity in his eyes when he looked at me made me feel butterflies. Coincidentally, I started working at the same place as he did. One day, he walked up behind me and stood for a minute - I thought maybe I was in his way - but then he told me he wanted to take me to dinner. We had our first date in the middle of a local pizzeria on a busy Friday night while a live band played and people crowded every table around us. I still remember how he held my hand and opened every door. We both just knew we were endgame. We made big decision incredibly fast without looking back. There was an unspoken confidence in our love that it could overcome anything. And so it has. When you know... you know.
