Cass Scenic Railroad State Park

Cranberry Glades Botanical Area
A short boardwalk winds through a rare high-elevation bog that feels more like Canada than Appalachia. You'll see unusual plants, carnivorous species, and gorgeous mountain scenery. September is especially beautiful as the vegetation begins changing colors
Greenbrier River Trail
One of the most scenic rail-trails in the country. Rent bikes or simply hike a section along rivers, bridges, and old railroad tunnels. Great for guests who want a relaxed outdoor adventure.
Snowshoe Mountain Resort

Highland Scenic Highway
The Highland Scenic Highway is a 43-mile National Scenic Byway running through the Allegheny Highlands of the Monongahela National Forest. Designated in 1996, it is celebrated for panoramic overlooks, high-elevation spruce forests, and access to some of West Virginia’s most pristine natural areas.
Bald Knob
At over 4,800 feet elevation, this mountaintop viewpoint offers sweeping vistas and cool mountain air. Bring a jacket—even in September!
