You Bring Me Joy

We met at our (then) same places of employment in 2008. After a few brief morning greetings in-passing, we stood in the lobby one day and talked. Those morning conversations became more lengthy, although we only saw each other sporadically. On my last day at that workplace, we saw one another. I told him I was leaving and we exchanged phone numbers that day with the intent of keeping in touch. We began speaking via phone and our first date was a few weeks later. We got engaged in Washington, DC (outside of the Smithsonian Institute's National Museum of African American History and Culture), November of 2019. Now we're here, looking forward to September 2021.
