From the first day I met Roger, I knew God had answered my prayers. He was the one I had been waiting for my whole life. Even though we came from different places and backgrounds, we were the missing pieces in each other’s lives. We had arrived at this season of life bearing the scars of failed relationships, and yet we were still hopeful that true love was possible. We found that love in each other. We connected on so many levels; intellectually, spiritually, professionally, and emotionally. We were inseparable and we enjoyed just being together. We had our differences, but always managed to resolve our issues because we knew we had something special. After dating for more than a year, we found ourselves in an irreconcilable situation. As much as we wanted to be together, there was still more work and healing that needed to be done in our individual lives. Roger walked away from me and I had to let him go. After 17 months apart, there was a prompting in my spirit to reach out to him. I was resistant at first, but eventually I had to be obedient to God and do what I was told. I reached out to him with no expectations of a response, but God was already working with his heart. He immediately responded and expressed that he had been thinking of me too. We decided to meet a few weeks later in California. Our reunion was the most beautiful time for us as we realized we were meant to be together. We understood that we had to put God first in our relationship and commit to each other in a way we had never done before. We have been given a second chance at love and happiness, and we were committed to living out our best lives together. On February 17, 2025, Roger asked me to be his wife, and I said yes!
