How do I go about obtaining my Passport?

What do I have to declare when re-entering the United States?

Answer

Anything you bought (including from duty-free shops or on a ship or airplane) Anything you inherited or received as a gift (you'll have to estimate the fair market price of the gift) Anything you brought home for a friend Anything you plan to use or sell in your business Alterations or repairs to anything you took abroad and brought back (for example, tailoring of a suit in Hong Kong) Anything you bought (or received as a gift) in an insular possession country (America Samoa, Guam, the U.S. Virgin Islands) or any Caribbean Basin Initiative country (see the sidebar) that is being shipped directly to your home (this is different from the usual procedure for mailed items)

What if I choose to stay at a different resort

Answer

Resort guests must purchase a Guest/Wedding Pass to attend the event for those who are not staying at the resort. A guest pass costs $100 USD for adults and $50 USD for children ages 2-12. Each guest on a wedding pass must present a valid Government-issued ID (Driver's License or Passport) upon arrival at the front Desk. IDs will be kept at the Front Desk until guest departure. Only guests with proper IDs will be allowed to access the Resort.

Can I use my cell phone while I am in Jamaica?

Answer

The resort offers free wifi to resort guests. We highly recommend downloading WhatsApp for free voice and video calls and text messaging. There are no data rates while using wifi.

Can I use U.S. Dollars in Jamaica?

Answer

U.S. Dollars are accepted in tourist areas, but if you pay with US Dollars you'll receive Jamaica currency coins as change. This can often be at an unfavourable rate. So, if you're planning to explore less touristy places, we recommend taking Jamaican Dollars to get the best prices. How will I get to and from airport once I arrive in Jamaica?

Answer

Hotel RIU provides transportation to and from the airport for a small fee of $19 per person. You will need your flight information and hotel reservation number to book your ground transportation. This can be done on the RIU website using the same link used to book your room. Please note that this is a shared transportation service with other guest at the Hotel. YOU MUST BOOK TRANSPORTATION IN ADVANCE in order to access your free voucher.

Can I leave the resort after I arrive.

Answer

Yes. We suggest booking transportation with a company that has been referred by the resort. As always, be careful, smart, and cautious as you are in a different country.
