Kim and Nick met on November 26th 2016 at a bar in Chicago's Lakeview neighborhood called Kirkwood. Kim was out with a few friends as was Nick. Once they met they began talking about their interests but what Kim remembers most is Nick asking her about her favorite sports teams (after knowing Nick, Kim thinks he was just making sure she wasn't a Cardinals or Packers fan). They texted everyday for about two weeks and finally Kim asked, "are we ever going to meet because I don't need a cyber friend" at which point Nick asked Kim out to dinner. They had their first date at Tuco and Blondie and then we all know how the story ends.
Nick came up with an elaborate story about how his brother, Steve, had a work assignment to take pictures downtown Chicago. Nick told Kim that they should tag along and get some nicer, professional, pictures to hang in their apartment. Before the big moment, all three of them got a drink at Three Dots and a Dash in the River North neighborhood. They then walked toward the river and Michigan Avenue, near the Wrigley building, where Nick got down on one knee and asked Kim if she'd marry him and, after many times asking if he was serious, she said "Yes!" Nick had drink reservations at the Witt Hotel for him, Kim and Steve preceded by dinner reservations at Chicago Cut with some of their closest friends...Naturally, with Nick's love for planning and bringing people together it doesn't end there! They all went to a dive bar called Ed & Gene's where all of their friends that lived in Chicago joined them to celebrate. The next day Kim, Nick and Steve had brunch with Kim's family at her sister's house. It's safe to say that the entire weekend was filled with celebration surrounded by loved ones.
