FAQs

If you have any other questions that are not listed on our website, please ask me or Mathew. We are definitely new to a destination wedding, so we are learning as we go. One thing we know for certain is that it will be a fun time.
Question

Where will Kim and Mathew be staying?

Answer

We will be staying at Langosta Beach Club the first few days prior to and day after the wedding. After that, we have an Air B and B in Tamarindo.

Question

Are there other people attending that we might be able to share accommodations with?

Answer

Absolutely! There are a handful of people going. If you want to try to save on costs, please ask us who will be attending so we might be able to help match people up. You just can't stay with the wedded couple. :)

Question

Will our travel costs be covered?

Answer

Unfortunately no, we are not that wealthy. However, if you choose to join us then I am certain it will be money well spent on an amazing vacation. We did choose Costa Rica as it is absolutely gorgeous and the cost is manageable to many. However, I have reached out to the airlines as well as a few places for accommodations to inquire on group rates. I will post any relevant info on that as I get it.

Question

What dates will Kim and Mathew be in Costa Rica?

Answer

We will be there around March 18-28. While we do plan on going on adventures with friends and family throughout that time, there will be days/times where we prefer to be solo.

Question

Who gets the luxury of managing Logan?

Answer

We know that time with Logan will be appreciated by many. We also know that time with Logan can be a lot to handle. We assume full responsibility for him the entire time we are there but ask that you let us know if you want him to spend the day/time with you so that we can accommodate that between others in attendance.

Question

What is the attire for the wedding?

Answer

Your choice. We are in a warm and beachy climate so dress accordingly. Just don't wear a white dress and all will be good. :)

Question

What will I need to do to make the travels?

Answer

At minimum, you will need the following: passport, airline tickets, place to stay, spending money as you see fit. Airline tickets will average between $400-600 round trip. Accommodations (depending on where and who with) can vary from $20 nightly and up.

Question

What about creepy crawlers and other animals in Costa Rica?

Answer

This was an important question for me. Clearly there will be creatures and bugs that we are not accustomed to, all part of the experience. From what I have gathered so far, the most common ones that will likely be in your house/hotel/villa are ants and geckos. The army ants clean up other bugs that are trying to dwell and the geckos will feast on bugs and mosquitos, so I would recommend leaving them be to let them do their job. This blog I found to be informative on the creepy crawlers. https://www.twoweeksincostarica.com/bugs-spiders-snakes-costa-rica/ As for animals, they will also be abundant, right outside your doors. Here is a list of common ones to watch for. https://tamarindobeachinfo.com/a-guide-to-the-wildlife-of-the-guanacaste-region/ So to be clear, you will either always be hearing a howler monkey or see one, see geckos or ants in your vicinity, and potentially 6 inch grasshoppers and 6 foot iguanas. The creatures are no joke here. Please research areas/water areas prior to jumping in.

Question

Is currency exchange necessary?

Answer

Our understanding is no, it is not necessary. Most places will accept USD as well as credit/debit cards. AMEX seems to be iffy with some, but Visa/MC seem fine. It does save a bit of funds as well if you run your card(s) as colones. And for tips, it is highly recommended to have a good stash of $1s and $5s for this. If you want more stellar service, have those bills on you.
