We first connected in high school… kind of. A mutual friend introduced us, and for a month or two, we just texted. Since we lived far apart, it didn’t really go anywhere—at least not back then. But little did we know, God was already at work writing our story. Fast forward to 2024: Mario moved to Las Cruces to start school at NMSU. Just a week or two after settling in, he sent me a message: “Hey, I just moved to Cruces. You down to get food?” And honestly—how could I ever say no to food? 😄 What made it even crazier was that, before he messaged me, he had already been popping into my thoughts and showing up on my social media. I didn’t think much of it... until that message came. And it turns out, he had been having the same experience. We both felt this gentle nudge, like God was quietly bringing us back into each other’s lives. From the beginning, we had both been praying to find the person God had chosen for us. Someone with strong faith, who feared the Lord, and who would help lead us closer to Him. What we didn’t realize was that He had been aligning our paths all along. That first message in high school? It was just the beginning. Corny? Maybe. But we believe in answered prayers. And today, we stand here as living proof that God’s timing is perfect and His plans are always better than our own.
