Emerald Mountain - Hike or Bike or Horseback riding
Hiking, horseback riding and mountain biking in the summer. The trails within Emerald Mountain provide views of Mt. Werner, Sleeping Giant Mountain and other scenic icons of the Yampa Valley.

Strawberry Hot Springs - serene outdoor hot spring
We went here for New Year's Eve our first year we were dating. It is just beautiful, relaxing area to visit. Reservations are required. We suggest booking early.
Pearl Lake State Park - hiking and paddle boarding
We love to paddle board and camp and fish out here. About 35 minutes outside of town.
Mount Zirkel Wilderness - day hike
This is a great day hike. But a long day. 12 miles. The reward is seeing the beautiful alpine lake mid way through the hike. Be prepared to cross rivers / see beautiful wild flowers and breathtaking views. Good hiking boots /shoes and trekking poles are helpful. Water and snacks are a must. Don't forget your sunscreen. :)
Mount Werner - scenic hike
Roughly a four mile trail from the base of the mountain to the Thunderhead Gondola. See views of the valley. Hike back down or take the Gondola ride.
Fish Creek Falls - scenic hike
There is a lower trail to see the bridge and an upper trail to see the top of the waterfall and a beautiful view.
Mountain Coaster
The Outlaw Mountain Coaster stretches over a mile, at more than 6,280 linear feet long.
