We met at Target on December 8, 2023, a cool Friday evening — because apparently love does live in aisle five. I had popped in for a few last minute items to add to my nephew’s Christmas haul, while Hollis was there working a “Shop With a Cop” event, helping kids pick out Christmas gifts. The moment I walked in, I noticed the front of the store was packed with police officers. Naturally, I slowed my pace… partly out of curiosity and partly to admire the uniforms. For safety reasons, of course. I took my sweet time strolling through every aisle, feeling very secure and in absolutely no rush to leave. After about 45 minutes, I FaceTimed a close friend to excitedly tell her what was going on and hopefully convince myself to wrap it up and head home. That’s when Hollis walked by mid-conversation, looked up, smiled, nodded… and kept walking. I immediately told my friend, and before I could finish my sentence, Hollis turned around and came back. First things first, he politely checked to make sure I wasn’t on the phone with another man (green flag). I showed him my FaceTime call with my home girl, we all had a quick laugh, and I promised I’d call her back. Hollis gave me the sweetest compliments and told me he’d like to get to know me better. I won’t lie, I didn’t have the highest expectations because he looked like the kind of man who probably gets a lot of attention. But I was intrigued, so we exchanged numbers. And from that Target run on, we’ve been inseparable ever since.
Every year my job hosts ‘Shop with a Cop’ at Target, an event were police officers partner with Target corporation to buy children gifts. As the event was winding down, I was making my final rounds, making sure every kid was taken care of…when, suddenly, everything else stopped. That’s when I saw her. One of the most beautiful women I’d ever seen. No glam, no extras, just natural beauty doing what natural beauty does best. She was dressed all the way down, effortlessly stunning, and I knew I had to say something. Sooo, I borrowed one of Santa’s reindeer, and dashed right on over…even though I was way more nervous than I care to admit (which is saying something, because I’m usually calm, cool, and collected). Kimberly was on the phone, so, being the gentleman I am, I politely asked if she was talking to her man. She smiled and said, “No, I don’t have one.” (Hallelujah.) We started talking, the nerves faded, and before I knew it, we were exchanging numbers. Later on, as Kimberly was leaving the store, she turned back and said, “Make sure you call me.” I said yes mam will do. I must've walked straight to my police car… and immediately started practicing my first few sentences like it was an audition, lol. And honestly? We haven’t missed a day since. That unexpected Target moment turned into a beautiful journey filled with love, laughter, and countless memories - one that brings all of you here today to celebrate with us. We are so excited to share this moment, this day, and this forever with the people we love most. Thank you for being part of our story & and welcome to our wedding ❤️ #ForeverMoore
