We met on Upward, a Christian dating website. We felt the Lord’s favor and blessing over our courtship every step of the way. From George being ready to delete the app, before finally remembering to pray to the Lord for His will over the process (and very shortly after matching with Kim), to the prophetic word Kimberly received weeks before saying your husband is coming to you very soon, to the proposal in front of the Lion and the Lamb statue at Sight and Sound, and our color 🩵 being on full display that entire night at the showing of the book of Daniel. There were so many beautiful moments of confirmation along the way, we couldn’t fit them all into the 4,000 character limit, but the best part is that even though we were dedicating a lot of our time getting to know one another on our regular hours long phone convos and our few and far between in-person dates, we were actually growing closer to Jesus through the quality time we spent with each other. We were always intentional about putting Jesus first and loving Him more than each other and centering our relationship on His solid foundation. We were praying with each other early and often and continue to, and one of the first things George romantically suggested we do together was watch a 28 video YouTube series together on the book of Hebrews. The first time we met, George was surprisingly very shy and at a loss for words, as Kim’s photos on upward didn’t do her justice and her beauty was more than he bargained for. Thankfully Kim found it flattering and gave George another shot. From our Worship Wednesday playlists on Spotify (now on volume 3) to being led to going through and completing premarital counseling with leaders from George’s church, the relationship has been Christ centered every step of the way. His leading the way has allowed us to do the improbable and pull off a long distance relationship even though it’s been more and more difficult as our feelings for each other have grown.
