The Hudson Valley is especially beautiful in the fall. The village of Tarrytown and neighboring Sleepy Hollow are just a few of the charming towns along the Hudson River that are great to explore while you're in the area! Be sure to check out our recommendations below
Main Street Tarrytown
Check out the hilly downtown of Tarrytown, which has a great shopping district along with a wide selection of bars, restaurants and coffee shops (Muddy Waters is a personal favorite!)
Hudson RiverWalk Park
Just under a mile downhill from Main Street, this is a pretty riverside park with views of Manhattan and the Sleepy Hollow Lighthouse. Grab a coffee and pastry at Jane Bakes nearby as well!
Washington Irving's Sunnyside
Sunnyside is the home of Washington Irving, the author of The Legend of Sleepy Hollow. Fun place to check out if you're a history buff
The Great Jack O’Lantern Blaze
A big Halloween attraction that comes to Sleepy Hollow every year with over 7,000 hand-carved jack o'lanterns along the riverside. This year the Blaze kicks off on our wedding weekend! We went to the Blaze our first year living in NYC and had a very spooky time!
Lyndhurst Mansion
Beautiful 67-acre Gilded-Age era estate built in the 1800s and once owned by railroad tycoon Jay Gould as his summer home. They host a fall festival on the grounds on our wedding weekend!
