Sitting in her car before church Kim saw Danny going into the building. Kim knew of Danny, but had never had much personal interaction with him. After the service they ran into each other, hugged, and talked for a few minutes. Soon after they decided to go mini-golfing together. Danny came out of his house dressed in a button-up and slacks. Kim was stunned that he put so much effort into his presentation. That date they got to know each other pretty well and decided to extend it by getting ice cream and going on a drive. Kim and Dan found time to hang out everyday with one another, making the most out of that summer. They quickly became bestfriends and decided they wanted a relationship together. The rest is history.

This engagement story is not your typical engagement story. It involves coffee, pepper spray, a taser, and a very disturbed Russian guy. The day started with Danny taking Kim to their favorite coffee house. Danny then suggested to walk to Seattle's Pier 62 which had their favorite view in the city. Halfway to the pier a strange man zoomed past them screaming in Russian. Danny made the mistake of making eye contact with him, so the guy spun around and began pacing towards Kim and Danny, all while screaming at the top of his lungs. Danny immediately began yelling a strand of obscenities along with "back up", and was fully prepared to sacrifice his hot coffee as a deterrent. Kim quickly pulled out her hot pink taser and began jabbing it towards the man, who had continued to draw closer. At the site of pepper spray being flown about, and the taser being activated, the man turned around and began screaming at another group of people. Kim and Danny made it safely to the pier. While Kim looked out over the water, Danny got on one knee. As she turned around, Danny held up the most beautiful engagement ring, and asked Kim to marry him.
