Yes and no, respectively. We are asking that all guests *regardless of vaccination status* obtain a negative COVID-19 test result within 3 days of the wedding. The closer the event, the better. Please be aware that turnaround times are slow on LI right now, so a rapid test is preferred. We are happy to assist in costs associated to testing. Traveling internationally? Please obtain your result after flying, if possible. We can help you book in advance and cover the costs for non-insured guests.
https://coronavirus.health.ny.gov/find-test-site-near-you As of right now, there are free options, including Walgreens. Rapid tests are at least $100, so plan ahead instead to take the slower PCR test (results typically in 2-4 days). For children or adult-sized babies (such as myself), you can opt for a spit test, which is equally reliable but harder to find. You can also order at-home tests, as discussed in the above link. BOOK or ORDER EARLY!
Masks are required unless you are seated at the table. Extras will be provided in case you forget! If you have a valid reason for exemption, please contact Kayla (kayla.siletti@gmail.com).
Cocktail or formal attire is recommended but not required. It will be December, so I would anticipate it to be quite cold on the water. We encourage guests to bring cozy sweaters and warm boots for walking around. We also encourage cuddling.
Yes! The Greenport station is a 3-hr train from Penn Station (end of the Ronkonkoma line, one transfer at Ronkonkoma), and an additional five minute drive to the Sound View/ Halyard. We are happy to provide rides to/from the train station, and we will be coordinating pick-up schedules closer to the date when we have a confirmed LIRR schedule.
During the reception, photography is encouraged. However, we would prefer that guests keep their cameras hidden away during the ceremony. We would like to avoid our photographer just capturing pictures of people taking pictures, and we thus instead encourage guests to tearfully reflect on the beauty of K&C's love. If you are a super good photographer though (i.e. no filters required), please contact Kayla and she will refrain from eye-shaming you during the ceremony.
No, because the bride and groom do not want to be viewed as "mainstream". But if you have any good ideas for how to work with Versteegh, please do contact Kayla Siletti anyway.
