Kimberly worked with Christopher's grandfather and he was very eager to have them meet. They met without expecting what was to happen between the two. They became really close but ultimately timing was off and Christopher was being deployed to Afghanistan. They briefly kept in touch but deep down knew there was something more. October of 2013 Christopher was back from deployment and met up with Kimberly and rekindled what was there all along. They have been together ever since.

Christopher and Kimberly were celebrating their 7th anniversary on June 17th and Chris mentioned he had set up a photoshoot at Wind and Sea beach for the couple to take photos as a gift. Something Kimberly has been wanting to do so they could hang photos up in their home. Little did Kimberly know it was for the proposal. Chris' photographer friend Frank was all set up on the beach and pulled Kimberly aside to take "test shots" and when she turned around there was Chris on one knee. Chris following the proposal planned a surprise private dinner with close family and friends to celebrate the engagement.
