Bridesmaid
Kimsa and I have gone through so much together. We went to the same elementary school and we talked but everyone was friendly with each other at that point in life. We went to the same middle school and she would playfully bully me but we know that people do that when they like someone. 😏 We went to the same high school but didn’t talk much and then she moved halfway through. But then she asked if I wanted to room with her in undergrad and the rest is history. Kimsa is always that friend who I know will keep me grounded with sound advice but at the same time, we never fail to laugh at dirty chain messages together. Some of my favorite memories is our (first and only) argument because she was too lazy to do laundry and another time when she was so mad after I handed her expired durian cake HAHAH. I’m glad she is always there for me as I am for her from now until the end.

My brother and I go way back, since the day I was born. He and I had a fairly close relationship growing up, doing so much together. We would always play games together (Nintendo only, for the multiplayer of course), have similar interests like music taste (mainly because I always copied him heh), and did similar things like piano (which we didn’t really have much of a say in). He’s always been there for me even while we were apart for college and grad school and would always be open to hanging out when we did happen to be home at the same time. My brother is a very open and caring person who loves making new friends and will support you always. Throughout everything, I can say that he’s the best brother I could ask for and I truly am grateful to grow up with him and have him in my life.

David and I go waaay back since middle school and he is still one of my closest friends to this day! It’s “unconventional” to have a bridesman and if you know me, then you know I like to follow the crowd and not stand out but I knew for sure that I was willing to break traditions for David because he means that much. 🥺 He has always been that sociable and talkative friend that brings everyone together and will go out of his way to help you out. He even housed Caleb and I for over a week and took a couple days off to show us around Japan! We’ve grown from angsty teenagers to (sort of) responsible adults and I can’t wait to continue to grow together until we’re both old and wrinkly.

I first met Norman on a school trip, but I didn’t truly get closer to him until we were locker neighbors in high school. Norman is one of those people who can get along with anyone and since we saw each other in-between classes and even shared some classes, we quickly became close friends. He’s always willing to help and hang out, as shown by all the times he drove us around in his Chinese medicine-scented minivan when no one else had a car, adventures and double dates in Davis, and much more. I’m truly thankful to be his friend and to have known him all these years.

All the stars aligned for Michela and I to get to this point in life! From co-workers to housemates and close friends to colleagues and now bridesmaid and bride. ❤️ I’ve always admired Michela for being such a warm and friendly and incredibly smart individual that has truly made such an unforgettable mark on my optometry journey. I love the bond that her, Nathalie, and I have from all our hardships and victories together through life so far and this is only the next step in our never-ending journey!

My first memory of Clarence was on a day that my family was visiting another church for the first time when we were very young. Being new I didn’t know anyone, but we quickly became friends. Later when we were around 4th grade he transferred to the same school I attended so we saw each other almost every day; he was like another brother to me and we would do almost everything together. Even though I moved away and didn’t come back often for college, whenever I came back I would try to chat with him at least a bit and he’d always be there. Clarence is dependable and caring (and has a great singing voice) and I’m glad to call him my friend.

Michela and I secured a house to live in when starting optometry school but we needed a couple more people to live with. Enter Nathalie, a self-proclaimed Naruto lover, BTS ARMY, and K-Drama connoisseur. She asked if she could live with us and I'm so glad she did because I can't imagine going through optometry school without her! Sometimes you need those friends who tell it like it is but you also know that they will always be willing to help out and Nathalie is exactly that. 🥹

The first time I met Eddie was purely by chance over a random Facebook post when everyone was still settling into dorm life first year of undergrad. Ever since that he’s been one of my closest friends through highs and lows even when it felt like there was no one else. From helping me out when I wiped out on my longboard face-first to unhealthily playing Super Smash Bros Melee for hours instead of studying, throughout all the memories we’ve had Eddie truly is a dependable and caring friend who will support you and take care of you without being afraid to speak his mind.

I remember the first time I met Nancy, her beauty (and highlighter) literally BLINDED me. Her and Andrew looked like those beautiful celebrity couples with their slender physiques and cool aura that you could never get close to but boy was I wrong. Under all that was a 2D men lover just like me. 😌 Nancy is an incredibly inspiring individual who I am so glad I had the chance to get closer to. She's never failed to have my back (even in scenarios when my jealousy makes no sense HAHAH) and I'm glad she will continue to on my special day!

The first time I met Andrew was at a socializing event for the incoming class of 2022, and it was just a really awkward experience meeting Kimberly and me. Thankfully our paths crossed more when school started, and the rest is history. Andrew is the reason that I got heavily into sneakers and Maplestory (old school, I know), and he’s definitely an important person in our lives. He may be known as the “tall one” in his family but he’s more than that; he can be the ultimate hype man, go down random rabbit-holes (hit him up for home aquarium needs), and overall just a great guy who I’m glad to call my friend.
