The only Guinness brewery in the world outside of Ireland. If you’re flying into Baltimore from BWI, the Guinness Open Gate Brewery and Barrel House is only 8 minutes away from the airport, and on the route to The Admiral Fell Inn. They offer free brewery tours, and have an on-site taproom, experimental brewery and beer garden.
Rumor has it that The Horse You Came In On Saloon is haunted by Edgar Allan Poe, and is colloquially known in Baltimore as “Poe’s Last Stop”. Poe was found dead in the street in front of The Horse after spending his night at the drinking at the saloon. The Horse is also the oldest continually operating bar in America, having opened in 1775. This colonial-era dive bar has live music 7 nights a week and is conveniently located next door to The Admiral Fell Inn.
Max’s Taphouse is located across the street from The Admiral Fell Inn, and carries over 100 beers on draft, almost 1,000 bottles and several casks. Max’s also has a side bar dedicated specifically to Belgian ales. Frequently voted one of the best beer bars in America.
An eclectic international food hall located down the street from The Admiral Fell Inn. Housed in an original public market building built in 1864, the building was completely renovated and reopened this year. Options range from an authentic Polish deli, a modern Korean bar and eatery, new American craft cocktails and coffee, Indian street food, Thai, and more.
