Our story begins April 1, 2019 when Robbie messaged me after being *highly* recommended by a mutual friend. Due to being 100s of miles away on rotations for PA school, our story was paused until 5 years later when we reconnected at a party. Robbie's quick wit and kind eyes left me intrigued. We would continue to see each other at church and always exchange a smile or engage in brief conversation. I continued to feel curious and think about "what could have been" if we went out 5 years prior. When Robbie hosted an event at his home, I was excited to go. We were finally able to talk more, and I knew I liked him. There was something about his calm and confident energy that was magnetizing. I left shortly after that for a rafting trip, but we had exchanged numbers and texted non stop while I was away. It felt like high school again, with our witty banter exchanges keeping me smiling the whole time. Our official "first date" was Memorial Day, 2024 where we spent time hiking, one of our favorite activities. Both of us have commented how strange it was to leave the first date disappointed it was ending (dating in your 30's can be rough!) We quickly realized how much we had in common with shared values, faith in God, ambition, love for Lord of the Rings and a desire to always be together. This naturally evolved to exclusivity. Months later I found myself in an airport in South Carolina after a work conference, trying to get home after a hack in the airline system left thousands of flights in limbo. That was the night I knew I loved Robbie because he stayed on the phone with me for hours later into the night, checking flight details, even booking me a hotel in case I didn't get home. I'll never forget his steadying and calming presence during a stressful and frightening experience, a small window into the nature of our relationship. He is the yin to my yang. We cannot wait to team through life!
