2020 has been super unpredictable, but getting married this year is super important to Noah and me. We've decided to move our wedding to 8/15/2020 at Searles Castle in Windham, NH. The wedding will be mostly outside, with an air conditioned tent for the ceremony, which allows us to have a larger group to celebrate. Please RSVP again here on our website so that we know you can make the new date, August 15, 2020. We certainly understand some guests may not feel comfortable attending and Noah and I completely respect your wishes. For those that can make our day, we’ve cut our guest list by 50, we will be screening people at the door and will provide ample hand sanitzer. Masks are not required but will be provided. Lastly, all hotel reservations have been moved to our new date of August 15, 2020, but please call the hotel to confirm that your reservation is still active. All the best, Kim and Noah
I knew early on how much Noah loved sports when he asked me if I wanted to watch the Superbowl for our first date. I agreed because he was cute, but couldn’t admit how little I knew about football or any other sport for that matter. So immediately after I hung up the phone I smiled to myself then googled, “who is playing on superbowl Sunday—two days from now” Denver Broncos vs. Seattle Seahawks. Then thought, “Who? Just kidding, I got this,” googled a few players to sound somewhat knowledgeable, and invited him over. My cousin and roommate and I had a pretty cute beach house in Narragansett at the time and could easily have a last minute “party” like we’ve done so many times before. Noah showed up early (of course) and we probably had about two other people show up. It was perfect. He was so sweet and an absolute gentleman; exactly what I needed. Seahawks won, and I couldn’t have cared less because this guy who loved football so much, was paying so much attention to ME and not the game. Noah left shortly after, kissed me goodnight, and I remember thinking, “I hope he calls me.” He texted me almost immediately after to tell me how much fun he had, and I knew right then and there that I was talking to my future husband. 3 weeks later he asked me to be his girlfriend and now here we are five years later and we’ve watched every Super Bowl together since.
For those of you that don’t know, it is next to impossible to keep a secret from me, and I’m still amazed Noah was able to hide a whole ring from me (in a closet I need a ladder to reach) and came up with a whole plan! You got me, I was 10000% suprised. Noah works in Westerly; Weekapaug to be exact. We go there every so often and walk the beaches because it’s so pretty and scenic, our favorite spot in Rhode Island! It was an early Saturday morning, very windy, and I was in bed when Noah told me Ed (his boss) texted him and told him “how crazy the waves were in Weekapaug, and that he should go check them out.” I thought nothing of it when he said he was going for a ride, then asked if I wanted to come. I said “sure!” I got dressed and since we’d be in Westerly, I asked if we could stop at Home Goods on the way so I could get a new rug for the bathroom. He seemed somewhat annoyed (I had no idea why) but agreed and waited in the car. (I later found out he used this opportunity to google what finger to put the ring on. Clearly google has saved us BOTH in this relationship countless times). I didn’t find my rug, but off we went. We got to the beach and Noah was pacing back and forth while I of course was getting shots of the beach for the gram, duh. My jokester of a fiance never ever gets sappy, so I knew when he came over to me, and started to tell me how much he loved me, that something good was coming. I started crying (because I’m a baby), he said some more stuff that meant so much to me, got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife. I said yes! I was SO surprised, and SO happy, It was the BEST proposal and well worth the wait.
