If you're in the mood for some good but maybe not so old fashioned Mississippi barbecue, then Pig and Pint is your stop! Enjoy pulled pork, ribs, and a great selection of beers.
Mulvi's Coffee Co.
It may not be on your direct route to Jackson, but this new coffee shop is well worth the detour. Mulvi's Coffee Co. is owned and operated by some close friends of ours, so when you stop in they'll treat you like family and whip you up a Brown Sugar Cinnamon Latte for the road.
Brent's Soda Fountain
Brent's Drugs opened in 1946 and hasn't changed since! Visit a piece of Mississippi history and enjoy the classic feel. P.S. You have to try a shake!
Babalu Tapas & Tacos
Head to Babalu to enjoy upscale Latin cuisine! The table-side made guacamole is second to none, and the Baba Burger just might be the best burger in Jackson.
Fondren Murals
Fondren is one of Jackson's most unique neighborhoods. Stroll up and down the side streets and alleyways to see several murals painted by local artists. We did, and had such a great time!
The Apothecary at Brent's Drugs
Don't let the night end when the reception is over! Keep the fun going by heading over to the Apothecary at Brent's Drugs. Grab some friends and grab a drink at this popular Jackson speakeasy.
Cathead Distillery
Cathead Distillery is becoming more and more of a destination in Mississippi. Founded in 2006, Cathead is the first and oldest distillery in MS. They are the proud makers of Cathead Vodka and Old Soul Bourbon Whiskey, a favorite of the groom's. You can schedule tours and tastings, or you can head there for public hours to hang out and play games. Public hours are dog and kid friendly!
Campbell's Bakery
If you've got a sweet tooth that our wedding cake won't satisfy, head to Campbell's Bakery to get some more sweets! My personal favorite treat is the petit four, which should be Christmas themed during December.
Walker's Drive In
Walker's Drive In is a culinary gem in the heart of Fondren. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu, but we highly recommend the filet and the Redfish Anna for dinner. If you're having trouble finding it, just look for it's classic neon sign. Walker's is a favorite among locals, so be sure to call ahead for a reservation during the holidays!
Mississippi Children's Museum
If you're bringing your little ones to town with you, then head to the Mississippi Children's Museum for a day of fun and learning! Admission is $10 a person, but the memories will be priceless.
