- Our Story -

Kimberley & Jonathon first met in 2019 when Jon moved into the same apartment complex with his dog, Hamlin, as Kim had been living with her dog Mylo. Their dogs forced them to meet, as dogs often do, but there was never more than small talk exchanged. Kim & Jon would see each other while out with their dogs often, slowly learning more about each other as their relationship continued as acquaintances. During this time Kim & Jon were both focused on the events happening in their own lives. In 2018, Kim had been diagnosed with Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia and was undergoing chemotherapy treatment for this until August, 2020 and then was hit with Pneumocystis Pneumonia shortly after and treated for the next few months. In 2021, Jon was deployed to Africa for six months, with a couple months of on/off training prior so he had not been around most of that year. After Jon’s return from deployment in early 2022, the routine of seeing each other while outside with their dogs began again. Through this infrequent conversation - Jon had joked with Kim about the struggles of dating, both of them stating they were at the point where they had quit looking and would let love find them when it was the right time, which eventually led to Jon stating - "Maybe you and I should just date." Kim laughed off his comment, not thinking he was serious - he was. Kim & Jon began to speak more frequently and talked quite often while Jon attended training in Japan for all of May 2022. Upon his return, the rest was history. . . . "We truly believe we are the perfect example of what's meant to be, will be, and that love will find you when the time is right. We've both faced our own share of challenges that we needed time of our own to get through. We know that should we have met romantically prior, it wouldn't have worked out, but the fact our relationship developed as it did, is a true testament to trusting the process, and knowing if something is meant to happen, it will '' - Kimberley & Jonathon. . . .
