It was the Summer of 2014. Ben recently wrapped up EMT school and moved to San Jose to pursue a career in Firefighting. Kim was living in Los Gatos and working as a Second Grade Teacher at Reed Elementary. They were introduced by their good friends Scott and Alicia Peterson. While Ben and Kim tell people they met at Scott and Alicia's wedding, they first met several days prior. Kim was one of Alicia's Bridesmaids and she was helping with some wedding decor. In an effort to impress Kim, Ben flashed his heat gun skills and embossing skills. Ben was first taken aback by Kim's beauty, caring personality and most of all her overalls. Kim first noticed Ben's ridiculous good looks, the blue t-shirt, and his backwards hat. They soon went on several dates and the rest is history!
