Bride
Kimberlee grew up literally in, on, and around the waters of Lake Winnipesaukee in New Hampshire. From a tender age there wasn't anything about the aquatic life that didn't thrill her. Kim has recreated on many types of boats, but her true passion is sailing. Alas, she hadn't been able to enjoy the sport much through adulthood until she met Barney, and the 26 year hiatus was ended. She is now looking forward to many years of active sailing with her new Captain, exploring waters near and far together. For the water truly feels like HOME to her. Kim is a Chiropractic Assistant, pianist, singer, gemology hound, lover of history, ASA sailor and proud mother. Kimberlee loves all animals, especially her hefty cat Hazard. She says she would even have room in her heart to love more cats.
Groom
Barney is an engineer, sailor, sailing instructor, boat owner (finally!) and proud father. He has been, on and off, a mountaineer, percussionist, skier, bridge enthusiast, pilot, cyclist, real estate investor, weekend mechanic, substitute teacher, chess coach, and kayaker. He likes to cook (and loves to eat.) Barney likes John's dog and he loves Kim's cat, but he doesn't want his own. It's as simple as that.
Matron of Honor
"Thoughtful, kind, and a great friend with a generous heart" is how Kim describes Mary. The ladies met through the sailing club on base where their men are very active teaching and of course sailing. Mary has been a life line of emotional support these past three years through the crazy twists and turns that have brought us to this wonderful day.
Best Man
Fellow Sailing Instructor and engineer, Mike is also a gourmet cook, electric bass player, awesome friend, and all-around Great Guy. And his wife Lori has the cutest little dogs you could ever hope to meet!
Mother of the Bride
Janet says Barney is the first MAN Kim brought home that she really likes. We are thrilled that Janet is able to join us as she is recovering from a recent knee replacement. Janet currently has 3 cats: Outlaw, Diesel and Yipes. Kim freely admits that her parents' naming of their cats has become rather eccentric.
Father of the Bride
From the beginning Gordon has been pleased as punch to have Barney a part of Kimberlee's life. Gordon is thrilled to walk his beloved daughter down the aisle. Gordon has owned several dogs and cats over the years. His favorite cat currently is Diesel, whom he calls his therapy cat.
Mother of the Groom
Barney has known Louise longer than any other person. (Ba-DUMP bump!) And she has always been his greatest supporter and inspiration. Her near-constant praise and shamelessly biased pride have always encouraged and reassured him. Her soft advice and judicious criticism have helped immensely as well. Sadly, Louise will be unable to join us for the big event, since at 91 it's just too far to travel. She's a part of the "Wedding Party" anyway!
Candle Lighter
Daughter of the bride Janna, 15, lives with Kimberlee and Barney and is a freshman at Great Mills High School. Upon hearing that we were engaged (this most recent time) Janna spontaneously quipped "Thank Goodness! Enough of this on again, off again nonsense." Barney and Kim both felt the slight disrespect could be overlooked, since it was actually quite perceptive. Janna is their most ardent supporter. Janna dabbles in guitar, and is also a budding artist with specific interests in landscape photography and audio/visual production. She and Kim's cat tolerate each other reasonably well.
Usher
Kimberlee's son, Jeremiah is 21. He is in the United States Army Reserve as a fixed wheel diesel mechanic and is readying to take his sergeant's exam. Jeremiah also works full time as a machinist for a large manufacturing company in New Hampshire. But his real life-long dream is to become a police officer, which he will have achieved that Later in 2019. He has recently been accepted and is on track to become a corrections officer for Belknap County, New Hampshire by the end of January. Jere polices the cats and wild animals at Nana and Bumpa's house. He tolerates cats even though they generally are very welcoming of him.
Candle Lighter
Daughter of the Groom, Elizabeth, 22, is an accomplished musician and music teacher, award winning baker, and ASA-certified sailor. She is studying Paramedic Emergency Medicine at the College of Southern Maryland, and volunteers regularly with Leonardtown Volunteer Rescue Squad. She has two extremely devoted cats that she can't help being rather devoted to herself.
Son of Groom
Son of Groom Christopher, 20, is a philosophy major at the Catholic University of America in Washington, DC, and is also in his 3rd year at Saint John Paul II Seminary. He is extremely devoted to the selfless, purposeful path he has chosen. He is also an accomplished sailor, deck hand, and dock hand (of course.) Christopher has never said anything bad about Elizabeth's cats.
Usher
Barney's LBJ (Little Brother John) aka "The Kid," John was a great little adventure buddy growing up (ask him about snow-shoeing the Sierra Nevada, co-piloting the Cessna, or ocean sailing off southern California). But now The Kid has surpassed the "old" master. John climbs the highest mountains, skis the diamond runs, enjoys living on the California coast, off-roads the sand dunes of Pacific beaches, and paraglide the great beaches and mountains of the US and Europe. Through it he's stayed ever humble and always held an inspiring perspective on what's really important in life. Now he and his amazing wife Bridget are starting on their greatest adventure ever: raising their beautiful little baby girl Rayanne. They have shy but really great and loyal rescue dog, Jazz.
Time Keeper Extraordinaire
Lori has a big heart and a pleasant nature about her. Kimberlee is thankful to consider Lori her friend. Lori will be keeping everyone on track and getting them down the aisle on time. She believes she really is married to THE Best Man, Mike Basham. She's very proud that Mike has three Siamese cats.
