It all started back in 1997, when we were just childhood classmates at Southside Christian School in St. Petersburg, Florida. Years later, in 2021, a simple Instagram friend request reconnected us, but little did we know, that was only the beginning of what God had planned. After a few years apart, our paths crossed again in 2024. What began as a lighthearted social media conversation quickly turned into deep talks about faith, purpose, and love. Through Bible studies and late-night conversations, we realized God was weaving something beautiful, something meant to last. On January 6, 2025, we finally met in person and spent the day laughing, holding hands, and feeling the peace of being exactly where we were meant to be. From childhood classmates to soulmates, ours is truly a love story only heaven could write.
For our anniversary, Kimani came to Atlanta no big plans, just quality time with me and my daughter, learning our everyday routine (which completely melted my heart). I still added a few sweet surprises, including a visit to the Georgia Aquarium because if you know him, you know he loves animals. We explored every exhibit (twice!), and before we left, he smiled and said, “Let’s go see the sharks again.” Standing side by side watching them glide by, I turned to say my feet hurt… and there he was on one knee. He asked, “Tamadj Flowers, will you marry me?” I laughed, kissed him, and said YES! What started as an anniversary became the beginning of our forever surrounded by sharks, laughter, and love.
