In the midst of the first big snow storm to hit Philadelphia in 2014, Kim found herself jonesing for some pizza. A few blocks away, Trevor and his friend made plans to grab a drink at their favorite watering hole. In a crazy twist of fate, both the pizza place and the bar were closed due to weather! What's a Fairmount resident to do?? Easy answer: visit the good old local dive bar. The Brown Street Pub was a solid stand-by that would never close for a little (12+ inches) snow. When Kim and her roommate walked in looking for dinner, they were immediately invited to join the two men sitting at the bar. Moments after sitting down, Kim learned the kitchen was closed and declared she was leaving to find food. Trevor informed the women that the bar was hosting a trivia game later in the evening and mentioned he'd save them some spots on his team. After a much needed meal, Kim decided a neighborhood trivia game was the perfect way to spend a snowy evening. The ladies walked back into Brown Street Pub and were greeted by a very ecstatic cheer from the same two guys at the bar. "You came back!!" In celebration, Trevor bought a round of whiskey shots for his new team. Not one to turn down free drinks, Kim shot it down and got ready to dominate. As it was the day before Valentine's Day, the trivia game was love themed. Isn't it great when life foreshadows itself? Kim impressed Trevor with her knowledge of love songs, but unfortunately they went on to come in 3rd place. The night continued on and Trevor and Kim found themselves alone near closing time. He insisted on walking her home and even stomped out a path for her in the snow. They exchanged phone numbers outside of Kim's front door and an eager Trevor called her the next day to ask her out. After some phone tag and missed opportunities, Trevor met Kim out for a casual dinner on February 16th. They spent the rest of the night eating ice cream and watching both the Olympics and Downton Abbey. It was love.
