One morning at DreamWorks, Rae noticed a cute girl standing in the breakfast line at the studio commissary. Immediately smitten, Rae recruited her coworkers to find out her name and to figure out an introduction. While the team of detectives waited to figure out her name, Rae and her coworkers simply called her "breakfast girl". Rae often got texts from her coworkers saying "Breakfast Girl is in Starbucks if you want a cup of coffee..." or "Breakfast Girl sighting at lunch!" A week or so passed when finally one of Rae's coworkers came up to her and said those magical words "I found out who Breakfast Girl is!" Though thrilled that she finally had a name, Rae realized that meeting Breakfast Girl (now known as Kim) was an impossible task. How does a girl from marketing randomly introduce herself to a girl in production who sits all the way across the studio?! Luckily, one of Rae's friends came to the rescue (again!) ** On a side note: Rae clearly has no game and couldn't have done this without the help of her fantastic coworkers and friends. ** After realizing he knew one of Kim's friends, he invited said mutual friend and Kim to his comedy show. He told Rae the good news, arranged seats so Rae would sit next to Kim, and essentially sent Rae into panic mode. (No need to expand on how Rae panicked on what to wear, what to say, etc.) Finally (FINALLY) the day of the comedy show arrived. Stomach full of butterflies, Rae saw Kim enter the room and walk up towards their seats. Kim noticed Rae's nervous smile as she introduced herself. Rae plucked up all her courage and said "Hi, I'm Rae. I think I've noticed you around DreamWorks."

After 7 years together, Kim and Rae decided they were ready for the next step in adulthood - marriage! Kim had bought a ring, but the question is how and when? She wanted to propose in a place that meant something to both of them. She also knew Rae didn’t want a public proposal so she needed to find a quiet, intimate place. Then it hit her! Why not bring it back to the room where it happened… the commissary! Valentine’s Day arrived and Kim set her plan in motion. She waited until after work so crowds were minimal, but before she could do anything, she had to call Rae’s mom for her blessing. Kim asked to borrow Rae’s phone and said an excuse about showing photos on the phone to friends. She walked outside and called Rae’s mom, but little did she know that Rae’s bluetooth headphones were still connected to her phone! Though the line would cut in and out during the call, Kim got what she needed – Lucy’s blessing to marry her daughter. Kim walked back inside and met a very confused Rae who said her headphones kept picking up a call. While she didn’t hear the conversation, Rae was pretty certain she heard her mom on the call. Obviously, Kim claimed the headphones were faulty and Rae was likely picking up someone else's call! The first step was done and Kim knew she had to rush to the next step before Rae figured out her plan. She put on her blue Disney sweatshirt (the same sweatshirt she always wore when Rae first noticed her in the commissary) and called Rae in a fake semi-panicked voice telling Rae to meet her in the commissary. Somewhat worried, Rae walked to the commissary where she saw Kim standing in the middle of the room in her blue Disney sweatshirt. Immediately she knew that Kim was proposing so (of course) she broke down in tears before Kim could even say a word. As Rae's glasses fogged up, Kim got down on one knee, somehow incorporated Oprah and Gayle into her proposal (classic Kim), and asked Rae to marry her. To which Rae enthusiastically said yes!!!
