Like a lot of modern love stories, we met on hinge. He opened with a cheesy pickup line about her restarting his heart cause she's a cardiac nurse. After a few days of Kim had stopped responding, she was in the middle of a stretch of three work days in a row. Matt was not swayed, he sent one last message asking for a date when he got back from vacation. Kim agreed. The two's first date was trivia night at neighbors. What better way to get to know each other than through competition?!
After dating over the span of a month, the two were out on the town in Nashville enjoying some espresso martinis. Towards the end of the night, Matt mentioned the good times he had with Kim and that he would like to officially be a couple. Giddy, she accepted!
The relationship moved quicker than Kim or Matt expected. Within six months of being together, they talked about moving in together. In November of '25, the two found a cute house to rent in Murfreesboro. This ment combining Kim's three dogs and Axe, Matt's German Shepherd.
The pair knew rental life wasn't going to be longterm, so they began looking into buying their own place. Not long into the process, Matt came across a place out of city limits where there was more privacy and they could build their life. In July they closed on their little slice of heaven.
The night started off like a normal date night. They went to a nice place in Franklin, but were not there long enough to get entrees before Matt said " We have to go. I have to turn something in for class soon." Kim was aloof and said okay. So, they got their entrees packed up and went home. Upon arriving, Matt pulled past the shop and into the back field. Waiting for them was a gorgeous arbor with white roses and draped linen. On the walk to the arbor, Kim had tears running down her face the whole way. Matt knelt and popped the question. and SHE SAID YES! Matt had a photographer in waiting to capture the entire thing!
