It all started with a golf tournament. One of my best friends had signed up for a golf tournament with one of Everett’s best friends. Everett and I were the other two partners to make up the four person team. We did not do well in that tournament but we had a blast! We kept talking after that and the rest is history! 🤍
Everett proposed during a trip to Vegas to celebrate my 30th birthday. The night before he proposed was my actual birthday, so we had stayed up late celebrating. The next day we had planned to go to Hoover dam since I had never seen it before. That morning I woke up and got dressed in comfy clothes with my hair in a bun and essentially no make up on assuming we were going to be hiking around and exploring all day. Everett ever so lovingly asked “Is that what you’re wearing today? Aren’t you going to do your hair? Or at least your makeup?” So being too tired to argue, I begrudgingly got ready. (I had always told him, it didn’t matter how he proposed but just to make sure I didn’t look like a bum when he did it. So needless to say, I was very grateful for his sassy persistence that morning!) Everett had rented a fancy sports car and drove us to the Dam. Over the past two years Everett would repeatedly get down on one knee and pretend that he was going to propose and then tie his shoe or pick up a pice of garbage off the ground. So when we made it to the Dam and we were at a romantic scenic overlook and he got down on one knee I of course automatically assumed he was joking and rolled my eyes at him. But then he stayed down on his knee and asked me to marry him!! It was absolutely perfect! We celebrated with champagne and a fancy dinner overlooking the Bellagio fountains. ❤️
