Not By Sight

#notbysight

We met by phone through a mutual friend on December 13, 2022. Within days we realized that our meeting was no coincidence. We found that we share the same birthday, March 13; our mothers have the same name, Betty; we are our Bettys’ fourth born child. These three parallels helped us to realize that God is writing another unique love story. And, with that in mind, without ever seeing each other in person we decided to enter into a covenant with God being the orchestrator. On December 24, the day we met in person, God laid out a beautiful plan for us to find love, to fall in love, and to stay in love for the rest of our lives. He gave us I John 4:16-19 and instructed us to consecrate the entire month of January away from each other (no contact at all for 31 days). God asked us to fall in love with Him again first, and promised us a lifetime of love for each other if we did. January 2023 was the longest January of our entire lives! But, we made it through and God did great things in each of us, with Day 9 being the highlight. Ecy was already in love with Kim before consecration started, but Kim was still unsure. On Day 9 of the consecration, God prompted Kim to say out loud and into the atmosphere “I love you Ecy” and instantly He poured love into her heart for Ecy like nothing she’s ever known. Once consecration had ended Kim was able to share with Ecy what God had done on Day 9. We were officially engaged February 24, 2023. We set our wedding date to coincide with our initial face to face meeting December 24. We would have loved to have that date for our wedding but out of consideration for our guests we have decided on December 30. Needless to say we are both excited and are waiting with great anticipation for the official beginning of the rest of our lives. We can’t wait to celebrate with our family and friends.
