During the height of the COVID pandemic, our first date took place on November 17, 2020, at Bar Louie. With masks on, the first hello was a bit awkward, but once seated, conversation flowed easily—we talked about our careers, interests, and future plans. By the end of the night, Kimberly offered to drive Chris to his car since he had parked farther away. Before he got out of the car, according to Chris, he "went for a hug" at the same time as Kimberly “went for the kiss.” Regardless of who made the first move, there was an undeniable spark from date one. A week later, on our second date, Chris asked Kimberly to be his girlfriend, though she playfully held out for one more date. On the third date, our connection grew and we made it official. Ironically, that same weekend Chris tested positive for COVID, sending us both into quarantine. From that moment, our inside joke was born: our “COVID anniversary.” Four years later, one dog (Sadie) and one cat (Ollie), we’re engaged and counting down to marriage—proof that even catching COVID couldn’t stand in the way of true love!
