Maid of Honor
Jocie is a woman on the go! Always ready to plan an event or travel to a fun place. She is also in the middle of rehabing her condo. And doing an awesome job! Jocie is basically the matchmaker behind this love story. So, we have to say "Thank you for taking up volleyball and introducing us. We are grateful you put events in place for us to see each other initially meeting. From the bottom of our hearts, Jocie, we love and appreciate you." We had to give her the title of Maid of Honor. She deserves it. - Erik & Kim
Best Man
You are my Best Man and my Best Brother. Kurt is also one of Erik's funniest memories. Kurt was three years old and wanted Luis & Erik to go see a movie with him. They asked Kurt questions about it and with each one he ran upstairs to ask his mom the answer and ran back to tell them. What movie? - Snow White. When? - 3:00. Where is it playing? At this question Kurt started up the stairs, and abruptly stopped, turning towards them, he exclaimed, "It's playing at a theater near you!"
Bridesmaid
At least I had a seven year head start! Enough to stay one step ahead of you. You're a mover and a shaker, and the best negotiator I know. I would like to take this opportunity to apologize for making the garbage robot costume for you in second grade. It seemed like a great idea at the time. The execution was a bit lacking, however. Ok, it was severely lacking. Love you, sis. - Erik
Groomsman
Mark is Kim's younger brother, by 16 months. He only seems older than Kim because he is taller and married with three children. One of Kim's favorite memories happened here in Grand Rapids, during her first year in college. Mark made her a raspberry pie and sent it to school with a friend. The pie was delicious, but his thoughtfulness and pulling off the surprise meant the most. It was love in the shape of a pie.
Flower Girl
Emma and her twin, Griffin, are Erik's seven year old niece and nephew. Emma loves horses. She rides horses, dances ballet, loves to read and has a green belt in taekwondo. One of her favorite rides at Six Flags Great America is Yankee Clipper (water ride). The first time she was at Six Flags, we rode it five times. After four rides it was early evening, we all were soaked and cold with our teeth chattering. We still had to go "one more time."
Ring Bearer
Griffin, Erik's nephew, has a purple belt in taekwondo, is allergic to horses and loves Star Wars and legos. Erik and Kim gave both Griffin and Emma cards asking if they would like to be in the wedding. Griffin opened his and read it quickly. He got a puzzled look on his face and asked, "What is a ring beaver?" Yes, when Kim prints her "r"s quickly, they look like "v"s.
