This national park is only 1.5 hours from Polson. It features scenic drives (Going to the Sun road is a must), varying levels of difficulty for hiking, wildlife spotting, and swimming for the brave. Do be aware that you must pay a park entrance fee and make a timed entry vehicle reservation to access the park. Timed entry vehicle reservations are made available on a 120-day rolling basis or at 7pm the day before, so plan accordingly.
A moderate level hike of about 5.5 miles up to a big waterfall and creeks. You will need a tribal pass to do this hike.
A difficult hike of 6.6 miles up to a peak with amazing views. You can then hike down into two mountain lakes. The Edwards family has made this hike many times, and we always see snow, wildflowers, and mountain goats (usually up close and often baby mountain goats!) The trailhead is about 1.25 hrs from Polson.

This is a really cool, somewhat eccentric museum. It features old planes, an army helicopter, farm equipment, and an old school house most of which can be explored. There are two actual playgrounds, and it is very family friendly. $10 for regular admission.
Flathead Lake is gorgeous although a bit cold. But this makes it perfect to see from a boat! There are several boat rental options on Flathead Lake
