Katie and Dan met in 2014 on a March afternoon in Potomac, Maryland. However, after some reflection, it seems now that their paths were, in a way, connected well before they meet. Dan was born at Sibley Memorial Hospital, Washington, D.C. in 1987, and Katie arrived at that very same hospital just two years later in 1989. While Dan grew up in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and Katie in the D.C. area, they now feel they were actually never far apart, especially after Dan's family moved back to the D.C. area. Upon meeting that day in March, Katie and Dan felt an instant connection and ever since have been inseparable. In this time they have known each other they have continued to grow together, challenge the other to be better, think differently, and increasingly love and appreciate the other. Whether they are enjoying a walk outside, spending time with their dogs, watching a favorite show, or traveling to a neat destination, the two of them cherish the little moments they share exchanging ideas and sharing their lives. Katie and Dan are very excited to start this next chapter of their lives and look forward to sharing it with their family and friends.
Dan surprised Katie with a peaceful weekend away at the beautiful Inn at Perry Cabin in St. Michaels on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. While sitting by the water, Dan got down on one knee and Katie laughed uncontrollably as he asked and she answered!
