Kiki and I started going to church together June 2020 but for whatever reason we never paid much attention to each other. Of course I thought Kiki was pretty, but I was very much intimidated by her. She was this big time lawyer from California that was super passionate about making disciples. Kiki on the other hand thought I was just an “East Tennessee Hick” because I constantly wore UT Knox gear (Go Vols!) and blue jeans. Eventually, we both realized that our preconceived notions were not true. I saw that Kiki was not intimidating at all but one of the sweetest people I know. I have simply never met someone more hospitable or caring for people. Kiki realized that I was not a hick but was a sophisticated, athletic and charming man. (she tells me this all the time) By the time we started dating, I knew very early on that Kiki was the person I wanted to marry. She was someone who truly loved Jesus, had a love of the Bible and truly loved and cared for people. After much prayer and hard work I FINALLY got Kiki to fall in love with me and agree to marry me. I am super excited to spend the rest of my life with her.

Philip and I are the essence of a COVID love story. We only met because I came to Memphis to work remotely and to be near my family. I left my home in California with one simple request, "Do not go to Memphis, fall in love, and move back to TN." (Sorry Marla!) When Philip and I met it was not an instant love connection... quite the opposite. Philip was the only single guy in a church with 6 single women and I thought he was bound to marry someone... definitely not me (oh haha)! After some rough discussions about my love for Disney movies, and his thoughts on robotic birds, we found ourselves discussing how we started following Jesus, how to think though topics with the Bible, and how community made our life sweet. Pretty soon, we were just talking alot! And if you know Philip, this is a surefire way to his heart! What I love the most about Philip is his heart to worship Jesus, his very fun and funny personality, and his crazy interesting mind. Never a dull day with this man. Can't wait to spend all my days with him!
