This may be a long one, but we promise it is worth the read. Kierstens birthday is June 26th and she loves the Alleghany National Forest, so Joe planned a whole weekend get away. What Kiersten didn’t know was, Joe was also planning to propose on this getaway. We packed up our bags and started loading up the car! Joe was determined to do all of the loading. Kiersten thought it was because it was her birthday, but really it’s because he had the ring hidden in the trunk! We headed out for our long drive! Once we got to our campsite, we immediately began unpacking and setting up. Our first night at camp was filled with laughs, games, and accidentally cutting down our brand new hammock. Hahaha We went to bed at a decent time so we could make the most of the next day. When we woke up in the morning, it was pouring rain and our campsite was flooded. That didn’t stop us from getting up and heading out to our favorite spot in Alleghany, The Stone Tower! We put on our boots, and rain coats, then headed out! Once we got to The Stone Tower, Joe wanted to take some pictures. He took both of our phones and set them up so his could stand and get a great view of us, the tower, and the forest. He then hit RECORD on his watch. Kiersten had no clue what was going on, but she just loved being there with Joe. Let us give you a little back story on why this tower is so special to us. Our first road trip as a couple was to Alleghany. We found this tower and enjoyed the views and being in each others presense. Ontop of this tower is where Joe told Kiersten for the first time that he loved her, and Kiersten the same. It was a very special and beautiful moment. Back to the proposal. Joe kept telling Kiersten how much he loved her, and then he got down on one knee. Once Kiersten said yes, Joe put the ring on her finger and they hugged. Then both phones fell over at the perfect time! The Stone Tower will forever hold a very special place in our hearts!
