How We Met

5.8.2018

Right before finals week of my senior year we met on Coffee Meets Bagel, and continued to talk for the next couple weeks. The more we talked, the more we found that we had in common, and when we had our first date on May 8, 2018, we couldn't believe how easy it felt for both of us! Something had clicked, and we both knew early on that God had led us together for a reason. Blake was going to leave for a 6 week trip overseas that weekend so I was excited when he asked me on a second date just two days after our first date. After almost nightly facetime dates, we finally had our third date the night he got home, I met his family the next night, he met mine 2 days later, and just a week later he asked me to be his girlfriend, which I happily accepted!

The Proposal

2.16.2019

Blake has always been very romantic and old fashioned, so even though we had already been talking about marriage and I knew it was coming soon, he managed to pull off the perfect surprise! We had plans to go to the McCormick House at Cantigny with Todd and Julia (his brother and sister-in-law) and their little girl Ellie, and right before we went in, Blake got a call from Todd saying that they couldn't come, but they'd see us back at the house. Meanwhile we figured we would still go on the tour since it was something we'd been wanting to do for awhile. When we got to there we were told that they were closed for the day officially, but would still give us a short tour (little did I know Blake had arranged all of this down to the last detail!). Another couple (the secret photographers) came in behind us and were told the same thing. We went through the house and ended in the library. Blake asked me to come over by the piano and told me that while we may never have a house of this magnitude, he wanted to build a home and a life together with me, but he had one more question to ask... I enthusiastically said yes to the love of my life, and after stopping for coffee, we went home where our families were waiting to celebrate with us!

For all the days along the way
