we're getting married!

We met in Fort Myers, FL on high school spring break. The beach holds a special place in our hearts because of this! We started this whole adventure in high school and made it back to each other years later. We have so much history together and so much to look forward to; house, wedding, future family.

This is quite the story. We planned our yearly trip to Florida to visit Alex‘s grandma. We had dinner reservations for Alex‘s birthday and we wanted to leave the condo a little early to get pictures. I suspected nothing. After I took a picture of his mom and grandma I turned around and he was on one knee. I threw my phone in the sand and started sobbing. After I looked at the ring the first thing I said to him was "is this real?". Not the typical yes LOL. Because I noticed the ring was not the one we designed together. I was thinking this was a big, cruel joke. Alex replied, "well the ring isn’t, but this is". Then he points in the distance and tells me my parents are here. He had them fly in so they could be part of our special moment. Turns out there was a miscommunication about who was responsible for packing the ring, as Alex didn't want me to find it in his bag. He and his mom realized 30 mins before he was supposed to propose that she had left it in Indiana. So he called my parents to tell them that the proposal wasn’t happening since he didn’t have a ring. My parents said no way were they going to let that stop it. So they went to the nearest jewelry store and bought me a beautiful ring to stand in its place. So now I have a fiancé, two rings and a funny story to tell.
