FAQs

Question

In light of the COVID19 pandemic, are there special precautions we should be aware of?

Answer

We have been in frequent communication with both the cathedral and the venue, and are watching out for updates from the city of Memphis regarding gatherings. At this time, we are requiring guests to wear masks during our wedding mass. Masks at Prop Cellar, our venue, are optional, though we are asking guests to avoid overcrowding areas such as the rest room and bars. Please bring your own mask! Thank you for your patience and understanding as we navigate this challenging time.

Question

Why Memphis?

Answer

Memphis is very special to us as it's where we met and fell in love, and where we plan to live. We can think of no better place to begin our married life than in the city that brought us together.

Question

I'm flying to Memphis. Should I rent a car?

Answer

That's up to you! There are plenty of ride share options in Memphis, although we would lean towards a rental. We would recommend ride sharing or carpooling to our wedding reception due to limited parking.

Question

I can't wait to come! Should I rent an Air BnB or stay at a hotel?

Answer

We highly recommend you stay at a local hotel. In our experience with out-of-town visitors, local air bnb options are few and far between, and not very good quality. This may change by July 2020 though, so use your own discretion.

Question

I'm not Catholic. Can I still come to the Wedding mass?

Answer

Of course! Everyone is welcome and we would love for you to witness us as we enter into the sacrament of marriage.

Question

I've heard Beale Street is famous. Should I check it out?

Answer

Some people liken Beale street to a mini Bourbon street. It's definitely a fun time if you're looking to party, but the surrounding area can be a little sketchy at night, so just keep that in mind. For those willing to venture onto Beale, here is a link with live music venues on Beale: https://www.tripsavvy.com/beale-street-music-venues-2322029 The Kiernan ladies have been known to enjoy Silky O'Sullivans. We strongly advise against investing in a bucket beverage.
